For the Milk Bread

  • 125 ml milk
  • 30 g caster sugar
  • 1 tsp active dry yeast
  • 335 g bread flour
  • 1/2 tsp fine sea salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 55 g unsalted butter, softened and cut into pieces
  • 1 tsp vegetable oil, for bowl

For the Egg Wash

  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp milk
